Happy Valentine Fooding

This is another one of my fooding adventure entry. The monthly menu for February at Lisa's Tea Treasures was called Fairy Tale Tea! It was just too cute of a concept to pass up. Here is what they offered:

Prince Charming's Passion: romantic blend of Ceylon black tea, pineapple, mango, papaya, kiwi and strawberry
Cinderella's Scone: served with devonshire cream and preserves
Beauty and the Beast: Mushroom Truffle Risotto - a mixed mushroom risotto seasoned with chardonnay, parmesan cheese and white truffle oil in a buttery phyllo dough. Gorgonzola Cranberry Puff-forgonzola cheese, crushed walnuts and cranberries in a pastry shell, accented with a goat cheese rosette and ruby red cranberry.
Princess' Tea Sandwiches: Rapunzel's classic egg salad. Aurora's strawberries and cream cheese. Little Mermaid's lemon cucumber hearts.
Snow White's Love Apple: apple shaped pastry filled with green apple puree, fromage frais cream and speculoos crumbs, covered in a raspberry glaze.

Valentine's Day is here~ I was inspired to make this for Pooky.
He surprised me with a lovely fancy dinner at Le Papillon
Obligated picture with my pretty dessert~ It's a fresh berry corbeille.

Hello Kitty x Ladurée & my birthday!

Hello Kitty is the most popular icon and she can dress up in just about anything and make everything much more adorable. In celebration of The Ring in 3D, she can even make Sadako look cute @_@ The point of this post is the celebration of Ladurée's 150th year anniversary and Hello Kitty will be gracing the boxes. Thanks to my awesome aunt who delivered these back from Paris, my 3 year dream of sampling Ladurée's macarons has been fulfilled!! Out of all the macaron places I've tried, they had a different texture than Ladurée's. Maybe they couldn't get the texture down correctly because I've have had some hard and chewy (sticking to your teeth kind of way). Ladurée's macarons are so delicate with a thinly crisp outer shell and airy inside that is not the slightest bit chewy at all!
Flavors my the box:
 - (Incroyables) strawberry candy almond marshmellow
- Cherry blossom (?)
 - Raspberry
 - Vanilla
 - Chocolate
 - Lemon
 - Incroyables almond
 - Citrus
 - Caramel
Pooky is so sweet trying hard to organize an early birthday dinner with my friends on friday and another with my family on saturday. We played a late night game of mad rush miniature golf because the park was closing in 2 hours. With 13 people playing it was not enough time to play leisurely. It was fun and silly at the same time. On Sunday, I had afternoon tea with two of my friends who could not make it out on Friday night. Then I spent the rest of the day with Pooky at the movie theater to see The Raven. Oh, the sugar rush I had that weekend with 2 birthday cakes and macarons as gifts .
Cake #1 that is chocolate and strawberry.
Chocolate chiffon cake. I normally like my cake decadent but I went with a less sweet cake for the older guests I had.
My outfit of the day, however, I forgot to wear my socks T ^ T So it's incomplete.
I was inspired by the 4 strand braid that I attempt it myself.
The table is just overflowing with food and tea. Even though everything was mismatch, this Alice in Wonderland tea pot is the cutest!

This interactive display calls for some camwhoring >=3

Surprises after another ♥

My Pooky and I had an appointment at our local tea room, Satori Tea Company , for our monthiversary along with an early Valentine's Day date~
As for on the actual Valentine's Day, I  stopped by Pooky's work to give him my box of homemade chocolates with strawberry filling. In return, I got a box of macarons and assorted truffles but the surprises did not stop there. We shared a sushi dinner and I got dropped home around 9:10 pm. Then I got a phone call around 9:30 and was asked to come outside. I was confused and thought that he probaby had forgotten something and my mind began to sort through what it could be. I peeked out my door and saw a candle-lit pathway with him standing at the end of it and along the sides there were more candles arranged in "DP" inside a heart and "I ♥ U". My heart melted since it's the sweetest thing done for me. I couldn't stop smiling and wanted to hide my face then he pulled out a box with a key motif necklace inside. This is one of the most memorable and sweetest Valentine's Day ever!
Enjoying a little morning snack at Psycho Donuts.
Different experience in terms ambience but the menu did not stray far from what I was used to seeing.
my raspberry tea.
Our raspberry scones~ The heart saucers are so cute ♥
Assorted finger sandwiches.
Red velet cupcakes and macaron for the dessert portion.
And a pair of warm crumpets!
The little surprise Pooky set up outside my house.

It's never Valentine's Day without flowers!!
